Just send us a picture of you and a child enjoying a language-rich interaction using the ‘Talk Tip’ of the month. Email your photo to talktip2024@gmail.com by the last day of each month, and the winner will be notified within 14 days.
What's this all about?
Talking Matters has teamed up with Eastbay REAP and Whakatāne Kāhui Ako to boost tamariki's literacy and learning in the Eastern Bay.
Focusing on early oral language is key to giving our tamariki a great start in education, health, and wellbeing. Together with early childhood services, community playgroups, and the wider community, we aim to enrich the language experiences for our pēpi and tamariki.
Now, we invite everyone in the Whakatāne area to join us in trying new and fun ways of talking with children using Talking Matters’ ‘Talk Tips’.
At the heart of our campaign is a beautiful wall calendar filled with ‘Talk Tips’ to help enrich the language environment for our tamariki.
